Raúl de Molina, aka El Gordo, announced in El Gordo y La Flaca that he is leaving his beloved island of Key Biscayne for a luxury apartment in one of Miami's most exclusive buildings. The purchase set him back $2.3 million and when you see the photos you'll understand why.

The new building is located in the heart of Miami.
It's part of a new development in Brickell, a sophisticated area in Downtown Miami. It includes a shopping mall, office areas and two towers of gorgeous residences.
While Brickell used to be mostly a business area, in recent years it has become a hip place to live.
De Molina revealed on 'El Gordo y La Flaca' his purchase in 'Rise', the second residential tower of the Brickell City Centre.
It's a three bedroom, 4 1/2 bath unit on the 37th floor, according to The Miami Herald. Those are the biggest apartments in the building, with 2,740 square feet.
The same report revealed that De Molina took a $1.8 million mortgage to cover the costs. Yikes!
All the residences have an open concept.
The kitchen, living room and dining room are all connected, and share a contemporary aesthetic. Clean lines, glass and metal are everywhere.
As an art lover, El Gordo de Molina will probably find the walls the perfect canvas to hang his famous art collection.
Imagine waking up to this!
All the bedrooms offer a panoramic view of Miami, either of the dramatic city skyline or of the Miami River and beyond. I'm sure it's delightful to see the sun rising and setting, and the city light up at night.
The common areas are as incredible.
This room is called the library. It looks like a fun place to hang out or even visit with a friend you may not want to invite home just yet.
While the terrace doesn't look very spacious, it's quite a treat in downtown Miami.
The view includes three bodies of water. The Miami River, Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. When it rains, the water changes color and has a different shade of blue in each one of them. It's amazing to watch.
The pool area looks like an oasis.
You may think that it looks like any other luxury building with gorgeous amenities, but in fact it's not only modern but something short of a miracle in an area very busy with mainly office buildings and restaurants.
The building has its own snack/restaurant area.
Perfect for those moments when nobody wants to cook or dirty the kitchen.
Look at tha spa!
I have the feeling that El Gordo y La Flaca producers will have a hard time getting De Molina into the show's jacuzzi after he moves.
That hillarious segment of El Gordo sharing a bath with some celebrity may be a thing of the past.
The bathrooms are like a jewel box.
Designed with straight lines, gorgeous tiles and italian cabinetry.
El Gordo can't wait to move there.
“After living for years in Key Biscayne, I found this place to be one of the greatest places in all of the United States,” De Molina said about his new building. “It’s like living in Chicago and New York where you can walk everywhere.”
If you like urban life, you will probably agree with him. In the lower area, it has great stores and restaurants. You are a few blocks from the American Airlines Arena, where most of the big concerts and NBA games happen, and a short car ride from other trendy Miami neighborhoods.
The move sounds great now.
After all, Raúl's only daughter Mía just turned 17 on April 27, and the time for her to head to college is looming. Better to fight that empty nest syndrome before it comes with a modern and happening place.
