A mother’s hug saved the life of one of her premature twins

There are just some stories that stay with you and manage to warm your heart with joy. Last year, an Australian mother gave birth to a set of premature twins, but was told the gut-wrenching news that one of the babies had passed away shortly after birth. The doctors tried to revive him for about 20 minutes, but baby Jamie's lifeless body convinced medical staff that he was dead. I can't imagine what this poor mother and father must have gone through in those tense and emotional few minutes. Kate Ogg requested to hold her son one last time to bid farewell to her tiny baby. What happened next is truly a miracle.

Before holding her son, Mrs. Ogg thought, "If he was on his way out of the world, we wanted for him to know who his parents were and to know that we loved him before he died." The most beautiful thing happened after she placed her son on her chest–he started to move. Right when they finally came to terms with their baby's death, the mom and her husband, David Ogg, were blessed with this beautiful moment. Baby Jamie was alive and even opened his eyes.

It turns out that by laying on his mother's chest, baby Jamie was able to get the heat he needed to live. He ended up grabbing his father's finger and held on tight. The doctors were in complete disbelief. This story totally defies medical science and proves that a mother's love can move mountains. Now Jamie is a healthy 1-year-old and can play around with his twin sister Emily.

If his mom didn't think about hugging her son one last time, this story would have turned out very different. That's a powerful thing.
