A dying father left his 3-year-old daughter a video that will touch your heart. Ian Pratt suffers from motor neurone disease (MND), a terminal illness that attacks the nervous system. Unfortunately this means the 44-year-old dad may live less than a decade as the disease continues to attack his body. Because of the uncertainty behind his life expectancy, he decided that he needed to do something special to help his daughter remember him by.
The video has a message for his daughter, Georgiana, with life advice he hopes she adheres to when she's older.

Although she is only 3, Pratt has already had the "boy" talk with "Georgie," as he calls his daughter, on a video he's leaving for her. "I told her not to settle for the first person who comes along because he might be a charmer, but he probably won't be the man she will marry." He also explains that he wants her to explore the world first before settling down and that she's going to have her heart broken before finding the right person."
Pratt says his biggest fear is that his daughter will forget who he was and what he was like which is one of the main purposes he made the video. The condition he has may also make him lose his voice which will keep him from communicating with her later on. Therefore a video expressing every form of life advice was his best bet. He covers everything from love, finances, education, and career in his message to her.
Although Pratt diagnosis was unexpected, it turns out that MND is 10 percent genetic and may end up affecting little Georgiana. So sad. "I always say to Professor Shaw [his doctor]: 'Don't worry about finding a cure for me. It's too late. But please, you've got 30 years to find a cure for my daughter.' "
Aw! This makes me so emotional! I can't handle bittersweet stories such as this one. He seems like a great father and it's completely sad and unfortunate that this family is not going to have him for much longer. I think he offers Georgiana amazing life advice and I hope she does take it into account when she is older. It sounds like she is in good hands with her caring family and I'm positive she won't forget her amazing daddy–video or not.
