It seems like a worldwide epidemic: ginormous babies are being born left and right. The latest one was born in Colombia on Monday night. The baby's father, Winston Zabaleta Izquierdo, told reporters that both he and the baby's mother were surprised by the infant's size. They had bought the baby size zero clothes that are pretty much useless because they are just too darn small. The little boy will be named Sheimer. His mother Yojanis Margarita Pertuz González is 19 years old and gave birth naturally to this big bundle of joy. So just how big is this big baby?

Sheimer weighed 11.2 pounds. That's a big baby! It doesn't seem so big compared to reports of 14 and even close to 15 pound babies that have been coming in, but you try to pass 11.2 pounds of anything through your vagina and tell me that isn't big. If you look at the baby, you would think he was around six months old, not a newborn.
Yojanis was particularly surprised by the size of her child because she is also the mother of a 2-year-old little girl who was born of average weight. Yojanis has been sent home, while Sheimer remains at the hospital pending medical tests.
The size of the baby does not seem to have been caused by usual issues like mother's diabetes or age. I think this kid just feasted on whatever his mami did and grew.
I wish the family much luck. Yojanis is a stay-at-home mom and she and her 23-year-old partner Winston Zabaleta Izquierdo will be supporting the family on his $24 a week salary.
