Weight loss is not easy, especially when you're trying to lose over 100 pounds. Gemma Howden of Lampeter, Wales deserves a pat on the shoulder because the 28-year-old mom of three lost over 140 pounds in a matter of almost two years. She started out tipping the scale at 266 pounds, and finally decided that enough was enough and she needed to take care of herself.
So how exactly did this mom drastically lose this much weight WITHOUT leaving her home?

The mom knew it was time for a change when she realized she had no pictures with her children. This was because she had been too embarrassed to face photos that showed her what she looked like at her heaviest.
Upon deciding to change her eating habits, Howden realized she couldn't afford a fancy gym, so she made her home into a personalized bootcamp. In other words, she turned her stairs, a baby gate, and cans of beans and spaghetti as her fitness equipment. With this method, she managed to reach her goal weight of a healthy 126 pounds.
Howden proudly says that she is proof that you don't need a gym to lose weight and just have to use the items you have at home. For example, to work your biceps or triceps, use bottles of water or a tin can in place or weights. Any other exercises such as lunges, running up and down stairs, or sit ups use your own body weight.
This mom is such an inspiration! When i first started exercising I chose to do at-home workouts and they were just as effective as the ones I now do at the gym. If you've been making excuses that you don't have time to exercise, this mom is living proof that there is no such thing. If she can do it, then you can too mamitas!
