There's always been a lot of conversation around the notion of sleeping in a bra and whether it causes more harm than good. But a recent study is claiming that wearing a bra period could not only lead to health risks, but can also cause your breast to sag. Seriously? To think all these years I thought they did the exact opposite!

French scientist, Jean-Denis Rouillon claims that bras are not necessary and could actually harm a woman's figure. The sports Scientist from the University of Franche-Comté in Besancon, France has spent close to 15 years dedicated to studying 130 different women, all with different bust sizes. His controversial research found that a bra could even "prevent supporting tissues from growing," and that breasts are less likely to sag without one. He actually believes that not wearing a bra could help keep breast in shape and prevent backaches, claiming that after three months of not wearing bras the women he studied experienced no pain or discomfort and were able to perform daily activities even sports. What?!
I'm sorry, but this study does NOT have me convinced. Despite Rouillon's findings, I have no intentions of giving up my bras and I still don't really believe that not wearing one could actually prevent your breast from sagging–that makes no sense! All women need a little bit of support, but especially any woman who wears above a B cup. Forgoing a bra is not even an option for many big breasted women. Seriously, could you imagine being a DD and exercising on the elliptical machine with no bra on? That's going to be crazy painful!
There's a reason why bras were invented in the first place, to give us that extra support, to keep us comfortable, and to help keep our precious tetas from sagging. Heck, I know chicas that sleep in their bras because they swear it keeps their boobs perkier. I honestly don't believe that ditching your bra would have any real positive effects. If anything you might feel okay for a while, but I'm sure you won't feel or look better in the long run. Not to mention, who wants to walk around with their nipples exposed for the world to see?
