For Bennifer, 2024 has been a year of turmoil. J.Lo and Ben Affleck experienced a messy public breakup with rumors and headlines flying in the spring. In August, the “Let’s Get Loud” singer filed for divorce, embarking on a fresh start. And recently, Jennifer Lopez revealed her holiday plans now that she and Ben are officially over.

Ben and Jen’s romance began in 2002 after they met on the set of their film Gigli. That same year, they became engagedâbut ultimately called off the relationship in early 2004. Nearly two decades later, Jennifer and Ben rekindled their romance. Bennifer married in 2022 and lasted for less than two years before their relationship unraveled for the final time.
Jennifer Lopez's holiday plans this year revolve around her kids and family.
Between her two bouts of romance with Ben, Jennifer was married to Marc Anthony from 2004 to 2014. They welcomed twins, Emme and Max, now 16. Now that J.Lo and Ben are history, she stressed that her Thanksgiving and Christmas for 2024 would be focused on her children and family she doesn’t often get to see.
Other than that, her goals are simple for late November and December.
During a recent interview with People, Jennifer dished on her plans for the upcoming holiday season.
âIt was a pretty intense year for me and I’m most looking forward to spending time with my kids and my family coming out from the East Coast,â she told the publication for an article published on November 5. âThe holidays are such a special time for us and they’ve always been since I was a little girl. And I really look forward to those moments when I can be with my sisters and just relax and have fun and create new memories.â
This holiday season, J.Lo said she hopes to be able to 'slow down.'
While sitting down with People, Jennifer shared her hopes for being able to âslow downâ and âenjoyâ being together.
âWe don’t get to see each other all year, so we kind of catch up on what everybody’s doing and how life is,” she explained. “It’s just a beautiful time. I really enjoy it.â
Jen also dished on her favorite parts of Christmas.
Aside from the company, Jennifer said she is looking forward to all that the holidays bring.
“I love all of the decorations and the hot chocolate and the music and the food, and I’m one of those people who really tries to make it out of a storybook for my kids with all of those things,” she told People. “I’m a sucker for the holidays.”
Meanwhile, Ben will likely spend time with his own kids.
Ben has not yet shared his plans for the holidays. He will likely spend at least a portion of Thanksgiving and Christmas with his three children. During Ben and Jennifer Garner‘s 10-year marriage, they welcomed three kids: Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12.
Jen and Ben are reportedly on different wavelengths when it comes to being ready to date other people.
In early October, Interview magazine published a cover story featuring comedian Nikki Glaser interviewing Jennifer. “Iâm not looking for anybody,” she confessed during the sit-down.
Meanwhile, a source recently told Entertainment Tonight that Ben is “open to it” when it comes to dating again after their divorce. The source, however, also noted, âBen has other priorities that are more important.”
