Carved brows are a thing now & you have to see the creepy pics

There are brow trends we can rock IRL and brow trends that are just cool to look at on Instagram. First there was feathers brows, then barbed wire brows.  Now the latest in IG-friendly looks apparently is brow carving. It's not as painful or scary as it sounds, but it's not exactly practical either. Think smokey eye but just for brows.

More from MamásLatinas: Feather brows are a thing & the internet is freaking out

According to Allure, Texas-based makeup artist Alexa Link, is the mastermind behind this edged-out look, that involves creating traced lines around eyebrows to create sharp, defined edges. It's then blended out at the edges to create what appear to be a smokey effect.

The question is: Why would anyone want to rock this look? Unlike a smokey eye, this trend leaves the face with a rather cartoonish look. You know the kind of style that looks super dope on Instagram and kind of scary in person?

Apparently it's become so popular on social, it inspired other makeup artists to create sparkly and more colorful versions of it.

Certain versions almost remind me of an old makeup trick I learned a few years back, that involves tracing your brows with concealer to help create definition and hide pesky unplucked pelitos. The trend looks like you walked out of your house without finishing off with the last step which involves blending the concealer out.

It seems as if every day there's a new trend to check out and admire. And while they might be cool to look at, you won't catch me sporting them. Call me basic but I'm just not about that cartoony makeup face life. I'll keep taking my makeup tips from Beyonce.
