Dad Martin Wanless explained that his wife's vagina was basically "turned inside out" and as the kind and supportive husband that he is, he thought of a way to soothe her pain. The nurses at the hospital his wife was staying at suggested this remedy.
Enter–the condom. He writes:
Filled with water and frozen, they're the perfect shape to rest in between new mum's legs and ease a bit of pain and swelling. Don't believe me? This is actually a thing. Shortly after giving birth in hospital, my wife was taken to a fridge full of frozen condoms.
This. Is. Love. This is the same idea as icing a wound or a bump. You don't actually stick the condom inside of the vagina. This is meant to soothe the outer portion of the woman's body. There's nothing sexual about it and it's totally practical. Now you can add condoms to the list of things to put in your hospital bag. Just sayin'.
