The beauty industry has come a long way when it comes to diversity. Most makeup brands from drugstore to high end, contain a variety of foundation and concealer shades for women of all skin tones. There's even blush and bronzers for various complexions. But imagine a makeup line created specifically for Latinas? Regina Merson created Reina Rebelde just with us in mind. It was designed to not only provide products for us, but it celebrates Latina's unapologetic bold beauty style. It's also meant to unite all Latinas whether you're Mexican, Cuban, Colombian, Dominican or Puerto Rican. We did some digging and found out everything you need to know about this glamorous brand!

The founder is Mexicana.
“There’s a definitely a deeper purpose here for me,” Merson, a corporate lawyer who was born in Guadalajara, Mexico and was raised in Dallas, Texas, tells Elle.com. “Because as integrated as we are, we always come back to our roots. I want these real women to tell us how they’re being Reina Rebeldes in their own lives. And beauty is just the beginning of that conversation.”
What inspired the name?
The rebelde manifested in my life in that I was a lawyer who gave that up to start a makeup line,” Merson told Elle.com. “I also wanted the word reina as a celebration of Latina women. My mom calls me reina. That’s how I address my friends and cousins. It shows the respect we have for women in the Latino community.”
The colors are bright and bold.
Think bright purples and greens for shadows and lipsticks in every shade.
There’s a lot of vintage inspiration.
“I wanted a very beautiful, vintage-style illustration, so I had a tattoo artist in Los Angeles tattoo milagros on her back. Those same milagros show up in the packaging,” Merson told Elle.com. “I wanted a way to show that these great intentions are rooted within us. And to have a sense of wherever you go, there’s a community of women who came before you and love you.”
There’s liquid lipsticks.
And the shade names are absolutely adorable: Enchufada, Virgen, and Malinche.
There’s lip color sticks.
This shade is called Brava. Love it!
The IG honors real Latinas.
They highlight real Latinas on the page and refer to them as Reina Rebeldes–yas!
There’s a lot of Mexican influence.
Think Dia de Los Muertos, Selena Quintanilla and Frida Kahlo.
