I get a lot of compliments for my naturally thick and nicely shaped eyebrows. But I'll be honest, they didn't always look this good. In fact, I'm embarrassed to admit it but in junior high school I was rocking some pretty ugly-looking brows. They were pencil thin and sort of resembled check marks. Ugh it was terrible! 'Til this day it's hard to go through old family albums but thank God for my beauty-obsessed mother who encouraged me to grow them out. Could you imagine walking around with brows like that as an adult?

Big, bold brows are so sexy right now and it looks like they aren't going anywhere either. That's because fuller brows don't just look natural but they take years off your face and compliment your gorgeous features too. Look how nicely mine frame my big eyes! (picture below). But what do you do if you weren't blessed with a forehead full of brows? Don't stress! Fortunately, there are ways to make even the thinnest of all eyebrows look thicker. Here are my 5 tips for perfectly thick brows by fall!
1. Grow them out. It's not fun growing out overly-tweezed eyebrows, but if you want a big, bolder look you have no other option. Try to go at least a month without touching them and use a hair-growth oil to help speed up the process. I love B Nourishing Brow Oil ($30). It works wonders!
2. Exfoliate: This might sound strange, but exfoliating around your brow area actually helps shed away dead skin cells while also stimulating growth. I use to do it all the time. Try a gentle face scrub, like Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Pore Scrub ($6).
3. Get them shaped: I NEVER ever shape my own brows and I recommend you stray away from that too. Leave that for the brow experts! They can help determine the right shape for your face. I get mine threaded every three to four weeks and clean up the access hairs with tweezers in between appointments. I love Tweezerman Slant Tweezers ($23). Then I trim them with Anastasia Beverly Hills Hand-Crafted Brow Scissors ($23).
4. Keep them neat: Thick brows are gorgeous, but bushy ones are NOT. Keep those pelitos in place with Sonia Kashuk Brow Gel ($6).
Fill them in: Don't have naturally thick brows? Fill them in with a brow pencil, like L'OreaL Paris Brow Stylist Sculptor ($9). You can highlight, fill and blend with this amazing, 3-in-1 product!
