Let me begin by saying that you are one of kind. There is no other like you. You are not a stereotype, you can not be defined by generalities. Okay, now that we have gotten that out of the way, there is no denying that there are certain shared experiences that we all seem to go through as Latinas, right?
It's not that we succumb to the stereotypes, it's just that at some point we embrace parts of our culture that are unique to us and that we love and enjoy. We spend out childhood absorbing everything, our teen years rebelling, our 20s figuring out what being an adult is and then in our 30s we discover that even in our singularity we share certain universals.

Here are 10 things that every Latina goes through in her 30s:
1. You'll notice your hands get dry. What?! Bring on the vaselina! You really should start keeping a jar of that stuff by your bed and not for what dirty birds think its for, but for your hands and feet.
2. Letting your mami pay for you for anything starts feeling really weird, like maybe you should be paying for her from now on.
3. You realize that telenovelas are kinda fun and a great way to unwind in the evenings. You don't really want to go clubbing because then you'll miss an episode.
4. You start missing your familia like ALL the time if you don't live right by them.
5. Your vacations all turn into road trips to visit family and you like it.
6. You'll start calling your parents to check up on them daily because you worry about them.
7. You realize that even though you didn't think you were paying attention, you do know how to cook your mom's delicious arroz con pollo.
8. You start feeling nostalgic for your childhood and how fun it was to play and run around with all your primos and primas and you hope your kids get to experience that too.
9. You buy a faja and call it a faja instead of shapewear.
10. You realize that the saying, "de tal palo tal astilla" is totally right and you don't mind that you are turning into your mother.
