Reports of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck heading for divorce have been swirling for months. Still, neither of them has officially filed any paperwork. And an insider recently claimed J.Lo is "humiliated" and "furious" as their relationship continues to deteriorate.
More from MamásLatinas: Jennifer Lopez was as surprised as all of us when she got back together with Ben Affleck
Bennifer's love story began in 2002 when they started dating after meeting on the set of Gigli and became engaged later that year. In 2004, they called off their engagement — but nearly 20 years later, Ben and Jen rekindled their romance. They married in July 2022 and less than two years later, rumors of relationship issues began.
J.Lo is reportedly 'furious.'
A source offered insight into Jen and Ben's current mindset. “She’s furious,” the insider told Page Six. “He has humiliated her. He was the one who initiated getting back together.”
According to the insider, Jennifer is also 'humiliated.'
Considering the fanfare of their weddings — along with Jens's album This Is Me…Now and the Amazon Prime documentary The Greatest Love Story Never Told — J.Lo is understandably upset about their breakup.
“He’s humiliated her because she made a big deal that he’s the love of her life,” the source told Page Six. “They just had two weddings two years ago. This is some kind of a record, they’re not young kids.”
Ben is reportedly not filing for divorce to 'protect' Jen.
So, why hasn't Ben or Jen filed for divorce yet if things are over between them? Reportedly, the Good Will Hunting star is delaying the legal side of their split in an attempt to avoid embarrassing her even more.
“He’s very protective of her,” the source claimed.
J.Lo is reportedly house hunting amid their split.
On August 6, Jennifer reportedly toured a $22 million property in Beverly Hills, Page Six reported. Her house hunting endeavors come on the heels of J.Lo selling her Madison Square Park penthouse in New York City for $23 million, according to the New York Post. The property had been on the market for seven years.
Meanwhile, Ben recently closed on a home in the Los Angeles area.
On July 27, Ben closed escrow on a $20.5 million Los Angeles "bachelor pad," TMZ reported. The property is in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood. For months before the purchase, Ben and Jen had reportedly been living separately, with Ben residing in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles.
In July, Bennifer listed their $60 million marital home in Beverly Hills.
On July 11, Jen and Ben seemingly confirmed their marital issues when they publicly listed their Beverly Hills mansion for sale. They purchased the sprawling property in 2023 for $60 million. However, they are now asking $68 million.
