The highly anticipated Disney and Pixar film, Inside Out 2, has finally hit theaters as of June 14. In this installment, we once again reunite with Riley, now 13 years old, and her core emotions: Joy (voiced by Amy Poehler), Sadness (voiced by Phyllis Smith), Anger (voiced by Lewis Black), Fear (voiced by Tony Hale), and Disgust (voiced by Liza Lapira). Joining them are also a fresh set of emotions, including Anxiety (voiced by Maya Hawke), Envy (voiced by Ayo Edebiri), Ennui (voiced by Adèle Exarchopoulos), and Embarrassment (voiced by Paul Walter Hauser).
Since the release of the first film in 2015, Inside Out has transcended its status as a mere children's movie. It has become an invaluable educational tool, helping us better understand our feelings and our children’s complex emotions. But now parents and teachers can continue fostering a fun and educational environment at home or in school by encouraging children to openly discuss their emotions that may be otherwise challenging to process.
To assist, here are some engaging activity sheets from the film that can be beneficial to help our children, and even us, to illustrate how all our emotions work together to share important memories.
