Strange behavior is often associated with a total solar eclipse. Between end-of-the-world conspiracy theories, declarations of the rapture happening, and animals acting oddly, it's difficult to deny the effects. But what one mother allegedly did on the same day a total solar eclipse was visible across a large portion of the US is deeply disturbing.

On April 8, Danielle Johnson allegedly killed her partner, her infant child, and herself. The Los Angeles woman, 34, was an astrology influencer. And evidently, she was deeply disturbed by the eclipse, causing a mental break that prompted her to do the unimaginable.
Johnson reportedly stabbed her partner on the morning of April 8.
At roughly 3:40 a.m. on April 8, Johnson and her partner, Jaelen Chaney, 29, were reportedly involved in an alteration, according to a news release from the Los Angeles Police Department. The disagreement "escalated into Johnston becoming violent, stabbing Chaney, who succumbed to his injuries at scene" at their home in Woodland Hills. Police say Johnson then fled the scene with her two children.
Neighbors later discovered Cheney's body.
Later that morning, at around 7:35 a.m., neighbors in the couple's apartment building noticed their door was open. The neighbors went in to check on their well-being, and Chaney's body was discovered. Inside the apartment, investigators reportedly found black feathers and tarot cards, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Johnson then pushed her two kids from a moving car, according to police.
Tragically, Johnson's alleged crimes did not end there. At approximately 4:30 a.m., she reportedly pushed her two children from a moving vehicle on a busy highway. This included an 8-month-old and a 9-year-old.
In the news release, the LAPD noted that Johnson's infant died, but her older child survived. The 9-year-old "sustained moderate injuries from the fall and was transported to a local hospital." However, the 8-month-old "sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at scene.”
Finally, Johnson crashed the vehicle into a tree.
Roughly 30 minutes after pushing her daughters out of the moving vehicle, Johnson crashed into a tree. The LAPD reported her Porsche SUV was traveling at over 100 mph when the crash occurred in Redondo Beach. “Johnson did not survive the crash and was the sole occupant of the vehicle,” the news release stated.
Johnston called the eclipse the 'epitome of spiritual warfare' in tweets just days before the eclipse.
On April 4, Johnson, who posted on X under the name "Danielle Ayoka," wrote, “This eclipse is the epitome of spiritual warfare. Get your protection on and your heart in the right place.” She took to X again on April 5, posting, ""WAKE UP WAKE UP THE APOCALYPSE IS HERE. EVERYONE WHO HAS EARS LISTEN. YOUR TIME TO CHOOSE WHAT YOU BELIEVE IS NOW."
LAPD is not looking at the eclipse as a contributing factor.
Still, LAPD Lt. Guy Golan told USA Today that investigators are not considering the eclipse as a potential motive for Johnson's crimes. "Unfortunately, both parties are no longer with us, and that makes uncovering the facts of the motive problematic," he wrote of Johnson and Chaney. "Likely, we’re simply not going to know all of the things that factored into what motivated this heinous attack."
