10 Healthy Latino fast-food options at your favorite restaurants

It's National Eat Fast Food Day! Which is great, but honestly, we don't always have the healthiest options when it comes to fast food. Not having that many low-calorie options can add a layer of difficulty to our weight loss goals.

The restaurant and soon-to-be-chain that was started by a former McDonald's president is on a mission to serve healthy meals across the country. Their varied menu is amazing but my favorite is this quinoa wrap, made with fresh crunchy veggies, avocado, edamame hummus, "forbidden" rice and Adzuki beans all in a whole wheat tortilla. And yes, the hot sauce is on the side!

Rubio’s Tacos: Medium Chipotle Orange Shrimp Salad with Grilled Mango Habanero Taco

ph4xtghcoc1-1.jpg

Rubio's is dedicated to their healthy menu, with many options under 550 calories. Our favorite is this combo of the meium-sized salad with tangy pan-seared shrimp, mandarin oranges, fire-roasted corn, fresno chiles, avocado slices and black beans on a blend of spring mix and butter lettuce, topped with tortilla strips and fresh crema. To complete the meal, opt for the taco with mahi mahi seasoned in olive oil and garlic on an authentic comal and topped with mango pineapple salsa, along with crema and serrano cabbage slaw.
