Juggling parenthood with work can be stressful, but your kids should always be your top priority. That's why I couldn't understand how one New York dad managed to forget his 1-year-old son in a car for EIGHT hours on a freezing cold day!
According to Albany police, the man forgot to drop his son off at day care and instead drove straight to work, leaving the child strapped into the backseat of the car! It wasn't until hours later, at around 4 p.m., that the man's wife called to ask about the child and he realized his horrible mistake.
The dad immediately called an ambulance and the boy was taken to the hospital. Thankfully, he remained uninjured and was able to be released shortly after. Police have not yet determined if the father will be charged.

Okay, I totally understand being busy and preoccupied with work, but I just don't understand how any parent could possibly forget about their own child! I know the dad didn't mean any harm, but that's not an excuse. I mean, that poor little baby was sitting in a car by himself for hours at a time … in ice-cold temperatures!
As a New York resident, I can vouch firsthand for how awful the weather has been recently. The amount of layers I've had to pile on just to make going outside even the slightest bit bearable is ridiculous. So I can only imagine how cold that little boy must have been stuck in an unheated vehicle.
I'm so glad that the boy is (miraculously) fine because the situation could've obviously turned into something much worse. But I just hope that the dad has learned his lesson and will start paying a LOT more attention from now on!
