Babies get outpouring of breastmilk donations after mom’s tragic death

This sad story involves a mom who lost her life after giving birth to twins, but has a bittersweet ending. The single mother, 30-year-old Corie Jabra of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, passed away from a staph infection after only a few months after havingher twins, Liam and Brian.

Even though the unfortunate incident occurred so suddenly, the love that has surrounded the babies is amazing. Corie's friend, Barbara Martinez, decided to help the family out by donating her own breast milk and asking other mothers willing to do the same on a post in the JPmoms website. Needless to say, Martinez was shocked by the number of responses she got back which were more than she could have asked for…

It's sad to know that these babies lost their mom when they needed her most, but as the saying goes, everything happens for a reason. They were lucky that they are able to depend on the kindness of strangers and especially their mother's friend, since without her, this couldn't have been made possible.

The Boston Herald reports that the mother of 4 originally thought she had the flu and after taking antibiotics which didn't help her, she was hospitalized. She passed away two days later on her eldest son, Chance's 16th 1birthday. Jabra, whose death shocked the family, also left behind a 10-year-old son named Stephan.

Martinez, who is a mother herself, after seeing the family in their state of difficulty decided to find a way to help them. The Latina mamá says that she gets more than 1,000 ounces of breast milk sent to her house EVERY DAY and has received responses from mothers all across the nation. That is AMAZING.

We're sure the twin boys are in good hands and will enjoy hearing this story when they're old enough to understand. Martinez and the selflessness of other women proves that a mother's love goes beyond her own children and these kids are mighty lucky for all the help they're receiving.
