Philadelphia mom Megan Rivers must be made of steel. The new mom somehow managed to remain cool and collected…even after she unexpectedly gave birth to her baby boy while riding a local train on Tuesday!
According to the police, Rivers was approaching a stop on the train when "the baby just came out on his own." Huh?! How does that even happen?
But that's not even the most unbelievable part. Rivers not only delivered her son on the train, but afterwards, she got off at the next stop, walked up the stairs with the umbilical cord still attached (!!!) and found a nearby police officer. Um, is this woman a superhero? How did she manage to muster up that energy and do all that after giving birth? Was she magically not in pain? Or maybe it was just a result of pure adrenaline and the need to her baby to safety? Either way, I'm amazed!

The police officer who assisted Rivers and called the medics to come help her was also amazed, telling CBS that instead of being panicked, Rivers was just thrilled. "The joy that she had on her face, I'll never be able to explain it in 1000 years," he said. Yeah, I bet he wasn't expecting that when he went into work that day!
If I was about to give birth to a baby, I would be extremely panicked about going to the hospital, let alone unexpected going into labor on public transportation! It's amazing that she was able to remain so calm and strong for the sake of her baby. And at the end of the day, all that really matters is that both her and her son are safe and sound. Congratulations to the proud new mommy!
