The Bad Teacher actress sat down for a conversation with her friend and Who What Wear CEO, Katherine Power, on Instagram Live on Tuesday, April 14, and they had a chat about everything from motherhood and how Benji is as a father to how the couple are dealing with this new lockdown and social distancing life that the world is currently living in.

Cameron Diaz went on an Instagram Live with her friend.

Many celebrities are finding ways to stay connected with their fans and with the public–and also with their own famous friends–by creating some content online that people can enjoy while they are on lockdown. Cameron joined her good friend Katherine for a chat over a glass of wine, and they touched on many topics, including what the actress's experience has been like while raising a newborn baby.

“I love being a mother. It’s the best, best, best part of my life,” the actress said in Tuesday's Instagram Live with her friend. “I’m so, so grateful and so happy, and it’s the best thing ever, and I’m so lucky to get to do it with Benji, and we’re just having the best time. It’s so great. I’m just thrilled.”

The actress was already 'living in a bubble' for months.

“I’ve kinda been living a quarantine life anyhow because I have a 3-month-old, or a 3½-month old. So my life has been completely quiet and still for the last few months,” the actress said. “But I was able to have my friends over all the time. And now I just don’t see anybody.”

She added: “But it’s nice, and I love a bubble. I love being in the womb of my home with my husband and cooking. But at the same time it’s crazy that you can’t go out to the world right now.”

The couple announced their child's arrival in January.

Cameron and Benji have kept the details about their new life as parents pretty much under wraps since the child was born. They shared a sweet message at the beginning of the year, announcing that they had welcomed a little girl, but said they would be keeping information and photos of her private. "We are so happy, blessed and grateful to begin this new decade by announcing the birth of our daughter, Raddix Madden," the message read. "While we are overjoyed to share this news, we also feel a strong instinct to protect our little one's privacy."

She said Benji is an "amazing father."

While they are indoors, Benji is being an involved parent just as much as she is. “I have to cook at night, after we do bathtime with our baby and we put her to sleep. Benji puts her to bed. He’s so good. He’s such an amazing father," she said. "I’m so lucky he’s my baby’s daddy. He’s so incredible. He puts her down, and I go into the kitchen and I start dinner and I pour myself a nice glass of red wine. I start my cooking, I put on my show, whatever it is.”

Cameron is staying present while we are on lockdown.

Just like everyone else, Cameron doesn't know when this will end, but she is planning for the future while staying present in the now. She said she would be creating a vegetable garden in her backyard just in case this lockdown lasts through the summer. “The way I’m making it through this time is by staying in the present,” the actress said in the Live interview. “I stay in the here and now.”
