The couple has been keeping their fans updated throughout the pregnancy and she's been sharing her unique and eclectic maternity looks. Although they didn't share many details regarding his birth, the pair let their fans know that they would be stepping away from social media for some time to focus on their baby. Based on the photos and messages they've shared so far following their son's arrival, they look happier than ever.
Little Leafar made his Instagram debut in an all-black onesie, just like his mom and dad!
Kat shared the most precious photo of her husband, whom she married in February, and their newborn son. "Meet our beautiful baby boy, Leafar Von D Reyes. Thank you to all our beloved friends+family, fans+followers for your patience in us announcing his long awaited arrival!" she captioned the post. "To be honest, my husband @prayers and I want to take the next 40 days [the 4th trimester] to focus on the baby and our amazing relationship transitioning into amazing parenthood–so, please excuse us if we’re not on here as much for a little while. Just know we love you all and thank you for all the words of love+support! "
The proud dad shared his own post and wrote a loving message for his wife.
The artist might not look it on the outside, but he's beaming about the start of his fatherhood journey. "Whats above love? My Wife and my son are. It might not look like it on the outside but on the inside I’m the happiest I’ve ever been in my life! This year has given me so much to be happy and grateful for," he captioned the cute post with a few pics of the baby on Sunday, and then gave his wife a shout out. "I love you so much kitty I’ve never seen anyone fight for anything the way you fought to bring our son into this world. Magick is real and so is my love for you @thekatvond ."
The pair have been eagerly awaiting the baby's arrival.
Since they announced the pregnancy in May, the couple has been updating fans with sweet photos of Kat's baby bump. Rafael shared this post on November 22, with the caption: "Any day now" and three red heart emojis. So sweet!
Kat was also counting down the days until she met her baby boy.
The Kat Von Day Beauty founder gave an update when she was 38 weeks into her pregnancy and said she was "feeling super awesome." She shared a post after a hike and her belly looked so big and beautiful. "This has been the easiest most comfortable pregnancy I could have ever imagined!" she shared with fans on the post on November 10. "So excited to meet our Baby Leafar soon!!! *before you comment, yes, I already know I look like I’m about to pop and no, I’m not having twins. Happy Sabbath, everyone! "
Kat also opened up about an important lesson she learned through her pregnancy.
Kat shared an update when she was 37 weeks pregnant said that carrying her child made her closer to other women. "Big shout out to all moms out there who’ve paved the way for us first-time moms and have shared all your beautiful birth stories with me throughout my pregnancy. As a loner-by-default it’s been such a beautiful/different feeling to connect with women from all walks of life in this way. Yes, this pregnancy has brought my husband and I closer than we could have ever imagined [and we haven’t even had our baby yet!]–but it’s also connected me deeply with all my fellow sisters in motherhood out there," she captioned a video of herself showing off her baby bump. "Naturally, I’ve become more empathetic and understanding of other Mothers regardless of how different our approach to birthing might be and I just feel so lucky to be able to experience all of this alongside you guys."
The couple is releasing a documentary centered around their home birth.
They revealed in November that they would be welcoming their child through a home birth and sharing it with the world through a documentary. The newlyweds are known for doing things their way when it comes to their relationships and lives. The same applies to their parenting. They caused some major controversy in June when they announced they wouldn't be vaccinating their little boy and that they would raise him on a vegan diet. We wish the happy family all the best in their new journey as parents!
