The "Single Ladies" singer also revealed the names of the twins, Rumi and Sir Carter. While "Sir" may refer to the title of honor for a knight, "Rumi" was a 13th-century Persian poet, Jalal ad-din Rumi. Some believe that Beyoncé and Jay-Z chose these names because the poet made a reference to a "sir" in one of his most famous poems:

Bring the pure wine of love and freedom.

But sir, a tornado is coming.

More wine, we'll teach this storm

A thing or two about whirling.

According to TMZ, the couple trademrked the names in June, after the babies were born.
