WATCH: Mom stays incredibly calm in water birth video

A water birth is seen as a peaceful, empowering, non-invasive way to welcome your little one into this world. To me, giving birth in a pool far away from a hospital is terrifying. Apparently, I'm not alone. In 2012, the CDC reported that only 0.4% of Hispanic women had out-of-hospital births. After watching this woman's water birth experience, you may have a change of heart.

Midwife Lisa Marie Sanchez Oxenham shared the water birth experience of one of her client's named Audra. This is reportedly her second time doing this at home, which I believe. The woman is a pro. She stayed calm the entire time and didn't panic one bit. After a hard push, her baby is welcomed into this world and she said, "My baby!"

Oh. My. God. I mean the woman says that too in the video. But, wow! Welcoming life into this world is a beautiful, indescribable experience. Watching the video, makes me question why I felt safer in a hospital to begin with.

My hospital birth was nerve-wrecking and far from peaceful. Knowing that there are other alternatives out there and seeing what it's really like opens me up to the possibility.

What's truly a blessing is that every mom-to-be has a choice, and it looks like Audra made the right one for her and her family.
