"He said Dada today, three times!" Kim Kardashian told E! News. "And I was like, 'Wait, what?' Kanye was so excited, he was like, 'I told him to say that.' And I was like, just I really wanted him to say 'Mama' first."
Obviously, Kim was bummed out, but maybe she will cheer up when she learns that according to the experts, most kids would say dada first for a clear reason that has nothing to do with love or favoritism.
According to professor Joseph Lao, from New York's Hunter College, "the reality is that infants tend to say, "dada" before "mama" for the simple reason that "dada" is easier to learn." "Mama" is a word that requires bilabial skills – bringing the lips together to say the word, which is a lot harder.
Bam!
For all the proud daddies out there, including Mr. Kanye West himself, "dada" is like "baba", and it doesn't mean anything.
So Kim, my girl, enjoy your beautiful son. Boys do love their mamis more than anything in the world, just wait a little longer and you will see the magic.
