Alejandra Espinoza has quite the little starfish! The Mexican star recently spent quality time in the pool with her cute son Matteo. The 1-year-old loves the water and he has an amazing mom to teach him how to splash, dunk and bask in the simple joy of swimming. Espinoza shared this video on her son's Instagram, which has more than 300,000 followers. "I learned how to go in the pool without being afraid. I think mommy is the one having issues," read the caption. This is the best! The star's son is definitely at the age to enjoy pool time and start floating and kicking with some hands-on help from mamá.
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, new evidence
"shows that children ages 1 to 4 may be less likely to drown if they have had formal swimming instruction." It's great that Espinoza is also inspiring other moms to get in the pool with their little ones.
My son just finished his first swimming lesson, so I can definitely relate to the joy of watching your baby learn and enjoy a new life skill. As a mom, there's some dread and anxiety that comes with teaching your baby how to swim, but it's important to keep trying and have patience with yourself. Just keep on swimming!
