Heartbreaking sonogram shows dying baby holding twin sister’s hand

An expecting mother in Kansas was carrying twins, but both weren't blessed with good health. Brittani McIntire soon learned that her unborn son had a hole in his heart and an underdeveloped brain. He was slowly dying inside of her, but one of her sonograms beamed with hope. Her unborn daughter was holding on to her brother's hand.

This is the emotional sonogram photo the McIntire family showed to PIX 11 News. "He's only weighing nine ounces and his sister is over two pounds," the pregnant mom explained. "His only chance of survival would be heart surgery but they wouldn't do heart surgery because of his brain," she added.

Some tradegies are unexplainable and this is one of those cases. This little boy, whom they named Mason, won't get a chance at life. While in the womb, he has the love and support of his sister. It's truly remarkable how nature works. Sadly, I don't know how this expectant mother is keeping it together.

"It's just nice with everything going on I know I'm holding him. I'm carrying him but I just want to be there for him and she's the only one who can actually be there and hold onto him. It's comforting to know that if he does pass he won't be alone," she said. She'll always have two little angels by her side no matter what.
