Adamari López and Toni Costa are the happiest couple in the world right now! The lovely pair just announced they're expecting a baby girl, and now they're being so kind as to share the charming name they've chosen for their little princess. It's unique and has a really beautiful meaning. Plus, it follows Adamarí's family's tradition of choosing names that start with the letter A. Want to find out?

This morning Adamari–along with Toni and her colleagues at Un Nuevo Día–announced they'd chosen the name "Alaïa" for their baby.
"I love seeing my belly in the mirror," Ada said. She also shared that she wants a natural birthing experience. "I want to have a team on standby in case something goes wrong."
I love that Ada and Toni are so excited as first time parents when they saw the 3D ultrasound of their baby girl. They mentioned that Alaïa has her daddy's long legs (no pun intended) and her mommy's eyes and nose. In other words, the best of both parents, at least in my humble opinion!
About the name Alaïa, which is rather unique, Ada explained: "You do know that in my family we all have names that start with the letter A: Adilsa, Adelis, Adalberto, Adamari, Adilmari, Antonella, Azul, Aleicon, Alejandro… It's a family tradition."
Ada said Alaïa means "daughter of God, it comes from Allah, our Father," referring to its meaning in the Muslim religion. Alaia is also a Basque name and in Euskera it means "joyful." I love both interpretations and I know that the name represents the wonderful future that this baby has in store.
Ada said her due date is the end of March, but we all know babies come into the world when they're good and ready, and as long as she's healthy, as far as we're concerned she can come whenever she wants! Adamari López is one of our guest bloggers in Mamás Latinas, where she shares with us the details of her pregnancy in Spanish. Be sure to check out all her videos and follow along with her pregnancy.
Congrats to the lovely couple!
