Mermaid maternity photos are the coolest idea ever!

Just when I thought I've seen every kind of maternity photo shoot out there, photographer Adam Opris went ahead and raised the bar. The Miami-based photographer is taking prenatal shoots where many have never gone before: under water! That's right. Pregnant women are posing underwater for Opris' new series of mermaid inspired maternity photos. My gosh! You really have to see the photos to believe them. They are truly awe-inspiring.

Each photo in the series was shot completely under water. That's right! Pregnant mamis are going all the way, and immersing themselves fully into the mermaid experience. It's actually really cool. And before you ask, yes, it's also pretty safe. Opris tells the Huffington Post he did his homework before diving into the new project. "After doing some research on safety and pregnancy," he assures. "I realized that being in the water was not only safe, when done right, but recommended for pregnant women as it is a great way to relieve stress off their backs and joints."

But just because the shoot was safe, that doesn't mean all of his clients were stoked at the idea of posing for the series. Opris admits, some of his pregnant clients took a little while to warm up to the idea of posing underwater. But they eventually came around and went with the flow, and that's when the real magic happened! "I'm bringing mermaids out of my maternity clients," Opris explains on Bored Panda. "By embracing buoyancy and enabling these pregnant women to be free, I am creating magic to capture pregnancy in all of its glory!" He sure is!

I must have looked at each photo in the series a million times. I'm that obsessed. But you really can't blame me. Opris manages to make each one of his clients look like a magical, mythical ocean goddess. See the stunning photos for yourself!
