Hudson Bond was born with a serious heart condition called cardiomyopathy which requires a heart transplant. That's not the kind of news any parent wants to hear a week after their son was born, so when dad Kevin heard, he created a Facebook page to seek a donor and raise funds for the surgery. He uploaded a picture of baby Hudson hooked into a respirator and fighting for his life. The picture was meant to document the baby's condition but Facebook thought otherwise. They didn't approve it because it was too graphic and negative. What?!

Kevin paid twenty dollars to promote his page called "Hudson's Heart" so it could reach a wider audience. Facebook didn't accept the ad and went on to explain this: "your ad wasn't approved because the image or video thumbnail is scary, gory, or sensational and evokes a negative response. Images including accidents, car crashes, dead and dismembered bodies, ghosts, zombies, ghouls, and vampires are not allowed." Can you believe it? Obviously this explanation and comparison broke Kevin's heart because his little baby needs help and he is not a monster.
Just days before, baby Hudson underwent an open heart surgery at Duke Children's Hospital in North Carolina to install a Berlin heart to pump blood from his damaged left ventricle. The concerned father posted the image on his page and never expected the cold-hearted rejection and response from the social media outlet. Kevin was destroyed and rightly so! As a mother, I can't understand how they thought that picture was offensive when in reality makes you cry. Your heart goes out for that innocent baby and for the parents dealing with the problem. Kevin wrote on the page how bad he felt and posted Facebook's response on the Hudson's Heart fan page. The post gained some momentum and the story was covered by another media outlet.
Facebook issued an apology and recognized their mistake to the journalist, but not to the father. Since then, they have restored the photo on the page, but Kevin is not happy because he lost precious time since the ad was time-sensitive. He is trying to find a donor to save his baby's life and every second he wastes is time his baby loses. I just don't understand why that picture was censored! I hope they find a donor soon so the baby can get a transplant and go home.
