In her upcoming cover story for Cosmopolitan Mexico, Shaki explained, "Well yes, the truth is that yes, I am pregnant." Poor Shakira tried to keep this one a secret, but this is no shock to all of the chismosos out there … yes, us included.
There have been mixed reports about whether the Latina pop star is expecting a boy or girl. Just a few weeks ago, Raúl de Molina, the Spanish language host of El Gordo y La Flaca, revealed that one of his sources confirmed that Shakira will be having a baby boy. Likewise, sources have told Colombian news outlets that the 37-year-old is expecting a girl. Regardless, Shakira and her boyfriend GerardPiqué definitely have the genes for making a cute kid–all you have to do is look at baby Milan for proof!
It seems only natural that Shakira waited this long to confirm her pregnancy. She probably wanted to make sure she was about three months pregnant to share her baby news to the world. Shakira and Piqué must really be thrilled. Now, I wonder if baby number two will inspire these two to make it official and get married. Back in June, Shakira told Glam Belleza Latina magazine:
We already have what's essential, you know? We have a union, a love for each other, and a baby. I think that those aspects of our relationship are already established, and marriage is not going to change them. But if I'm ever going to get married, he's the one.
It doesn't seem like Shaki is putting pressure on the situation. With celebs breaking up left and right, the important thing is that they found true love and are happy with their little familia. Congrats!
