I've always been weirded out by dolls intended to look like babies which is why I can't comprehend what Wendy Archer is doing with her life. The 40-year-old mom of four is obsessed with four reborn dolls and treats them like they are her own children. When I say she acts like they are her own children, I mean she spends over $3,000 for accesories and toys for them.

Archer decided to get her tubes tied after giving birth to her four biological children. However, she missed the concept of having a baby to take care of despite having grandchildren of her own. That's when she turned to the reborn dolls she bought and named then Johnson, Elisha, Thomas and Shyan. "I just want to nurture and when I had my sterilisation, I felt a great sense of loss that I would never have a baby of my own to nurture again," she says.
She also explains that she doesn't see the dolls as toys, but instead as her actual babies. "I have beds, and Moses baskets for each of them, and they take it in turns to sleep in the crib in my room." It's to the point that she spends her time dressed them and tucking them into bed as if they were real kids. She says her friends don't understand her obsession which also keeps her from taking her dolls outside and presenting them to the public.
She says the dolls fill that void she had after being unable to have any more children and it makes her happy. "They are just like real babies–except without the crying and the sleepless nights–which suits me perfectly.'
Umm, okay lady whatever you say. I don't know if anyone else is weirded out by her method, but couldn't she have bought a pet to nurture intead of dolls? If she did bring them outside people would definitely be weirded out seeing a grown woman treating dolls as if they were real. It sounds like something is off in this woman's head and I'm surprised not one family member has told her this isn't normal. At least her grandkids have someone to play dolls with, but she might be a little too hardcore for their taste.
