A school aide in a Pennsylvania school is in trouble for feeding students cookies which turned out to be pet treats. The unidentified woman gave the treats to 75 students at New Hanover-Upper Frederick Elementary School during recess last Thursday.
It is not clear why she fed students the pet treats, but parents are furious over the incident.

Reportedly the aide told students that the snacks were pet treats, but then said they were cookies. It turns out she was right the first time and by that point students had eaten many of the treats she'd brought in.
The school notified parents of the incident who were furious over the danger the aide caused. Although the types of treats weren't identified, it is said that they contained ingredients that could have fatally harmed students with food allergies.
One student, Gabriel Moore said "She made it look like it was a joke that they were dog treats and then she came around and said, 'No they are cookies. They are fine.'" Parents are angry because students trusted the aide who gave them the pet treats.
Moore's father said, "Like what if it was rat poisoning or something, so it was kind of shocking to be honest with you."The school is taking the matter seriously and has placed the aide on leave.
I can't say I blame parents and students alike for being upset at this woman. You put your trust in these people and hope that they will watch out for your kids, not place them in danger. Although what she did could be way worse, it could have been hazardous to some students. Hopefully she learned her lesson.
