Tattoo parlors for children are just insane

When you think of tattoo parlors, you rarely associate them with children, which is why you are going to find this next story shocking! Sadie Hennessy decided to open up the first tattoo parlor for children in England called My First Tattoo and there have been some INTERESTING responses to the new shop.

There have been looks of horror, but what's most eyebrow raising is that there have been already 10 real requests. What kind of parent would allow their child to get a tattoo?!

Now, before you start calling this woman names, you should know that this was an art project that Hennessy created. Her purpose was to get people to discuss the sexualization of children and to see how the public would respond. In other words, it wasn't real. It was a sign put up outside an empty store as part of her experiment.

She said, "I'm not doing it to make a fool out of people. I'm just trying to get people thinking about these issues about our children growing up too quickly." Indeed she is right, the response she got was shocking. Hennessy said her project showed that people were divided 50/50 over the idea of a tattoo shop for kids. Even 10 parents signed up their children to have one done.

Hennessy says her concern started when she saw kids dressed in inappropriate attire which made her question what is acceptable behavior from them nowadays. She says, "Children should be children for as long as they can be."

I agree with Hennessy wholeheartedly because everyday I see children who are in a rush to grow up. Half of the things children discuss nowadays I don't remember even knowing about when I was their age. It's surprising though that this experiment proved that there are some who are okay with their children acting more grown up. It just goes to show you that parents are key when it comes to encouraging their children to act their age.
