Graco is issuing a second recall of their car seats after recalling 3.7 million of them in February. This time they are adding 403,000 car seats to the original recall which was announced due to faulty harness buckles. The popular baby product maker is facing even more scrutiny because the National Highway Safety Administration (NHSA) says there are STILL more of their car seats that need to be recalled for the same issue.
If you think you own one of these items, please keep reading for more details.

When the recall was first issued, the main concern was that the harness buckle would get stuck and posed as a safety hazard for tots. The additional problem was that over time the buckles can be more difficult to unlatch because of food particles getting stuck in it. Other parents have experienced scary instances where they've had to cut their children out of the car seat harness because it simply won't unlock.
The NHSA is urging Graco to also recall their infant car seats as well since they are using the same buckles as their toddler product and this can be dangerous. Graco claims it shouldn't have to recall their infant seats because they are easier to remove from a car during an emergency. If Graco is forced to include their infant car seats, it will be one of the biggest recalls the United States has seen.
If you or someone you know owns ANY of the infant car seats, the models affected are as follows: Ready Ride, Step 2, My Ride 65 with Safety Surround, My Size 70, Head Wise 70 with Safety Surround, Nautilus 3-in-1, Nautilus Plus, and Argos 70 Elite.
To report a faulty car seat, reach out to Graco at 1-800-345-4109 or the website to receive a free replacement buckle.
This recall is A LOT more serious than I originally thought. Graco should send out a statement to its consumers warning them about their infant car seats and really look into this for any future seats.
