As all parents know, kids have a way of getting themselves in some truly weird situations, forcing you to scold them and say things you never thought you'd hear yourself say! Nathan Ripperger's "Things I've Said to My Children" was originally posted online a few years ago, but only just went viral, racking up hundreds of thousands of views on Flickr. The incredibly funny collection of drawings, which Ripperger sells in poster form on his Etsy shop, all feature some lovely artwork, along with a quote of something he's actually said to his children before.

"It seems like I am constantly telling my children not to lick things. Or touch things," Ripperger told TODAY.com, later adding:

When you're a parent, after a while the absurdity just washes over you. That's the hardest part about parenting for me–to not let yourself be so caught up with your day-to-day business of life and really just enjoy the time with your children.

Well, I'm pretty sure any mom and dad can relate to that. Some of my favorite sayings captured on his illustrations? "Stop that! You can't build a fort in church!" and "Get that toilet seat off of your head now." Ha!

I love how Ripperger's drawings make light of some of the absolutely crazy things parents have to deal with on a daily basis. They're so FUN and actually really beautifully illustrated. Check out some of his funniest works below:

Note: any object in a kid's hands could and probably will be thrown at something.
