Any mom would tell you that having kids definitely changes you. It might make you stronger or more confident, but one thing's for sure: it definitely turns you into a worrier! In Jordana Brewster's case it transformed her into a hypochondriac. I guess you can say she worries about her son's health even more than the average mom, but what's wrong with that?

"I didn't realize I'd be such a hypochondriac as a mom," she said in a recent interview with Wonderwall. "It's flu season in Texas, so I haven't taken him out that much on set." Considering Jordana's son Julian (who she welcomed via surrogate) is still less than a year old, it makes total sense that she'd be a little overprotective in regards to his health. Isn't this such a Latina thing? I don't think I know a single Latina mom who doesn't make frequent doctor appointments whenever their kid isn't feeling well. Heck, I have friends who have blown up on physicians who either failed to properly diagnose their children or just weren't taking the symptoms seriously.
Let's face it, when it comes to being a mom, worrying comes with the territory. We want the best for our kids and we want to see them in good health. Who can argue with that? Growing up I remember always seeing my determined Dominican mamá request my pediatrician take a zillion tests whenever I was feeling sick, even if he didn't think it was necessary. I've seen her yell at doctors in the emergency room too. And you can bet to find her cooking up an old school remedio casero whenever she disagreed with the doctor's orders.
Call us crazy, but this is how Latina moms are built. We're going to fight until our kids finally feel fine. In fact, the only difference between a Latina mom and an actual hypochondriac is that we don't panic–we solve!
