What I wouldn't give to be able to catch all of my babies' firsts on video? These moments are precious and make being a parent pretty spectacular. I remember the first time both of my babies tried ice cream. The eldest was appalled, her little face scrunched up and then she would have nothing to do with it because it was too dang cold. The second loved it so much she ate it too fast and got her first brain freeze, which led to the most confused looking face and then tears because she didn't like the way it felt. That didn't stop her from wanting to eat more ice cream, though; it was pretty hilarious, but I didn't get it on video. Sigh.
These memories are flooding back because I've been enjoying a compilation of other people's babies discovering things for the first time. You are gonna love it.

Of course, I am particial to the clip of the baby having ice cream for the first time, but they are all so dang adorable. There is one of a baby being so blasé over baby food that it makes you think that child is discovering boredom. It's pretty funny to see this baby look like he is so world weary, you can almost hear him thinking, here we go again with this same old bland rice cereal, I am so over it.
