A hearty congratulations to Kate Winslet (one of my favorite actors–notice I'm using the unisex term on purpose) and her hubby Ned Rocknroll on the birth of their baby Bear. No, they didn't somehow defy nature and have a baby bear. On December 7, Winslet had her third child, whom they named Bear Winslet. Are you wondering if the baby is a boy or a girl because with a name like Bear, it's hard to tell? Well, baby Bear (in this case) is a boy! Still, don't you think that Bear is kind of a unisex name? I mean it is in nature, right? As unique as the name Bear may seem, baby Bear Winslet is not the first human Bear, there are others including Alicia Silverstone's son Bear Blu. So what other unique unisex names were popular in 2013? Oh, I can't wait to tell you.

No doubt Kimye and the birth of North West had something to do with #7. I have to say, I was surprised to find out that in 2012, according to the official U.S. tallies, the name North was used for 12 boys and less than 5 girls. Now, that baby North is on the scene, the interest in that name seems to be more for girls than boys. I wonder if anyone has named their child Tru North, yet?
