
Naming a baby is a huge honor and responsibility. Am I right? I mean, it's something you are giving a child that they will have for the rest of their life unless they hate it so much that they go through the process of getting it legally changed. Not to mention that when you do come up with a name for a baby, everyone has an opinion about it. It's a challenge for sure to come up with a name that is meaningful and appealing. That's why I think it is really interesting to see what baby names are at the top of the charts every year. I'm pretty sure no one goes into naming a child thinking, I want to name my baby the most popular name this year, but somehow a big chunk of folks end up choosing the same name for their kiddos. So what were the most popular baby names of 2013?

According to a list compiled by the popular website BabyCenter the following are the top 10 girls' and boys' names for 2013:

I find it really interesting that the top five girls' names this year work really well in both English and Spanish. Am I detecting a pattern here? I'm actually surprised that so few of the boys' names work bilingually. I mean, Jackson will end up sounding more like Yackson if you try to say it in Spanish.
