A baby can’t tell you how much they like their food, but Baby Thrill-O-Meter can!

One of the simple, yet beautiful pleasures of parenthood is introducing your child to new foods. It's so exciting to see what they like and sometimes a little shocking to see what they don't like. Sometimes it's hard to tell if your baby loves something or hates it because they can't talk and tell you, so you just have to look for cues, but their cues can be totally misleading. For example, when my eldest was teeny tiny we went to a Mexican food restaurant and I handed her a lime. She put it in her mouth and her face went nuts in a way that was either really good or really bad. I couldn't tell, all I could do was laugh and laugh. My husband and I decided she must like limes because she kept putting it in her mouth and making that ridiculous face as opposed to throwing the lime in our faces. I'm telling you this because I just watched a video of a machine called the Baby Thrill-O-Meter that can measure how much a baby likes particular foods.

I'm certainly not a scientist or anything, but this machine seems to be able to measure a baby's sweat response and thereby determine what foods totally thrill. Obviously, this is not the type of machine we can all have in our homes, it's a tad on the bulky side, but the video is clever and features some adorable babies.

The makers of this machine are Ella's Kitchen in collaboration with the Thrill Laboratory. It's cool because I'm sure the findings will be used to make foods that babies really enjoy. I'm pretty certain pureed liver is never going to get a positive response on the Baby Thrill-O-Meter, but can you guess what food babies found most thrilling? Watch the video and find out!
