A British woman got the surprise of a lifetime when she woke up with what she thought were period pains—and then ended up going into labor on the bathroom floor in her home!
Nadia Watson didn't even know she was pregnant when she was awakened by the pain. According to the 22-year-old mom, she was "still having regular periods," had only gained a little weight, and was still able to fit into her normal-sized clothes. But wait–before you other moms start seething with jealousy, wait 'til you hear the rest of Watson's crazy birth story!

Watson says she went to the bathroom, but ended up collapsing from the pain. By the time she realized what was happening, she had no choice but to deliver the baby on her own. "I realized I was in labor and just decided to keep pushing," she recently told the UK's Daily Express. "Most people have a team of people around them telling them what to do and when but I just had to keep pushing on my own."
Her screams of pain as she went into labor alarmed her next-door neighbors, who–thankfully–called the police. Emergency responders, including an ambulance, arrived just minutes after birth. Crazy right?!
But the absolutely most unbelievable part of the whole story? Watson's boyfriend was in the house with her at the time and somehow slept through the entire ordeal. How is that even possible? I mean, her neighbors heard the screams but he didn't? He must be one deep sleeper!
And it gets even better. Apparently, when she first presented him with his newborn daughter, he rolled over and went back to sleep. Again … WHAT?! When he finally woke up for good, he was stunned to realize what just happened. Wow, I swear Watson deserves some sort of prize for going through all that and then still being patient enough to have to explain everything to her super sleepy boyfriend. She must have superpowers or something!
A year later though, the two parents and their daughter, Poppy, are happy and healthy. Watson is now sharing her story–and for good reason. It's a pretty amazing one!
