One of my favorite things to tell people is that my grandmother had 13 children. I like to see the look of surprise on most people's faces, but today I had that same look of surprise on my face when I found out that an Iraqi woman in her 40s is pregnant with 13 babies! She's making Octomom, Nadya Suleman, look like a birthing slacker. Oh and I should also mention that she is already the mother of seven other children, including a set of twins. Although her husband of 24 years, __Fadhil Al Azaw__i, is elated that his wife is with child and child and child and …well, you get my drift … it's not all good news.

Preliminary tests show that four of the infants have no heart beat and are considered dead. Also, even though the mother is in good health, it is expected that more of the babies will die and those that are born will be very small.
The expectant mom and her husband had been trying to conceive for five years without success. The husband disappointed by not being able to grow their family even took a second wife in 2012.
I wish the entire family much luck. Taking care of one baby is hard and taking care of multiples is WAY harder. I also know that for the mother it is going to be very difficult to have to deliver babies that didn't survive. My heart aches for her and I wish her strength, support, and endurance.
