Evelina Reuss took her 3-year-old granddaughter, Piper, to McDonald's in Katy, Texas, last July and let her play in the gaming area. But she never imagined what ended up happening to the little girl. Before I share that with you, let me tell you that if you take your kids to places like these, this is something you'll want to read.

It looks like the cable from one of the game's controllers got tangled around little Piper's neck and when her grandma saw her "she was hanging with her toes dangling," according to what Evelina told KHOU 11 news. Can you imagine that? Evelina ran to her nieta's rescue, but no matter what she tried, the tighter the cable got around the little girl's neck.
Finally, an employee brought a pair of scissors and one of the customer's cut the cable, freeing Piper who must have been just as terrified as her grandma. Unbelievably, though, Evelina claims that the employees went back to work as if nothing happened and didn't even bother to call 911 or to check on her granddaughter.
In fact, she was the one who ended up taking Piper to the ER where she got treated for the scary gashes around her neck. So Evelina decide to sue and I think she did the right thing.
Some may blame her for not doing a better job at watching her granddaughter, but the reality is that it's McDonald's responsibility to ensure that its play areas are safe. Plus, I think it's despicable that the employees didn't show any kind of concern for little Piper.
I must say that this story is so shocking that I'll be watching my children like a hawk the next time we go to a fast food restaurant with any type of play structures or games for kids.
