Baby Jasleen was born on July 26 at University Hospital in Leipzig, Germany and weighed in at 13 pounds, 4 ounces and measuring 22.6 inches. That is one ginormous baby! She is officially the largest baby to be born in Germany. What I find even more astounding than just the size of this newborn is that her mother gave birth to her vaginally.
Usually a baby that is that large will be delivered via C-section. Why is baby Jasleen so big? I'm talking BIG, wait 'till you see this baby below.

__Turns out that Jasleen's mother had an undiagnosed case of gestational diabetes. Gestational diabetes usually develops around the 24th week of pregnancy and can lead to fetalmacrosmomia, which refers to a baby being born at a very large weight.
Jasleen is still in neonatal care, but thankfully both she and her mother are doing well. I think that mother deserves some kind of an award for surviving that birth.
I've had two vaginal births. One was a little less than 8 pounds and the other was around 6 pounds and both felt like I was pushing a camel through the eye of a sewing needle. How this woman was able to naturally push out a baby that weighed almost as much as my two babies put together is beyond me. I'm so happy that she made it through the experience in one piece and with a healthy child.
Now Jasleen better behave herself for the rest of her life, because her mom will just need to whip out a picture of her as a newborn and bring up all the pain she went through to get her into this world and there won't be one person on this planet that will not sympathize with her.
