In a crazy pregnancy story out of Nebraska, new mom Sabrina Negus' recently gave birth to four little boys at once–but they're not quadruplets!
That's right. In an extremely unusual occurrence, Negus actually delivered a set of triplets–plus another little boy. Umm … what? How is that even possible?!

According to FOX 19, a typical quadruplet pregnancy involves four eggs–one for each baby. But in Negus' case, three of the babies developed together in one egg while the fourth developed separately.
"This is two eggs, four babies," Negus told the news station. "So, that's what made it a little more unique. It's pretty rare to get spontaneous triplets."
I'd say unique is an understatement, don't you think? I mean, there has reportedly only been about 100 cases like Negus' in the United States ever. And at one early point during the pregnancy, Negus and her husband weren't even sure how many kids they were having. Though they initially thought they were having twins, one ultrasound showed three babies while another showed four. Can you imagine?!
Since that pregnancy can be very high-risk, Negus spent 11 weeks on bed rest in the hospital. She made it to 31 weeks when doctors decided it was time to deliver the babies early, for their own safety. It took 33 medical employees–two doctors for each baby, alongside a team of three or four staff members each–but the boys were born safely. After spending nine weeks in the hospital, mom and all four babies were able to go home.
Wow! That is absolutely incredible. I can only imagine how relieved and happy the couple is to finally be at home with their children. And though raising four boys at once won't be an easy feat, the new parents seem to be taking it all in stride.
"We're incredibly real blessed. I mean, there's not a thing wrong with these guys," Negus said. "They are absolutely healthy and you could not ask for anything more than that."
She's right–you really can't! Congrats to the entire family!
