Hello my name is Claudya and I am a Chavo del Ocho lover! Yes, it's true, I and so many others have grown up with the wonderfully iconic characters of El Chavo del Ocho and we are better for it. I don't normally rave about television shows, but this is one show that I will go to my grave being grateful for.

I have specific memories of sitting in front of the TV watching El Chavo and feeling just so perfectly right. Growing up in a Spanish-speaking Mexican household in the U.S.A., there was no other show on English or Spanish TV that touched me the way this show did. I loved and still love every single character and when I watch, to this day, I feel at home and understood. That's why when I found out that toymaker JAKKS Pacific is launching a new El Chavo line of toys that will be available in August, I was happy for my kids, but even happier for myself.
Now the toys appear to be based on the animated series El Chavo, which I have not actually seen, but the characters are the same that I've known and loved all these years. Except I'm not seeing La Chilindrina and I love me some Chilindrina. These are the kind of toys that I will outwardly be buying for my children, while not-so-secretly buying for myself. I never even liked dolls as a kid, but I would have gone nuts over a Chilindrina or El Chavo doll. Who wouldn't?!
