Grumpy gorilla scares some sense into bratty kids who totally deserve it

A group of kids visiting the Dallas Zoo's lowland gorilla exhibit had all kinds of fun taunting a massive gorilla until the gorilla had enough of their mockery and came at them.

I would not mess with a gorilla; would you? I don't care if that gorilla is behind protective glass, I still wouldn't mess with it because I know they are way bigger and badder than I am and deserve my respect.

Don't worry, though, nothing bad happened. The kids were behind clear barrier, but I think the gorilla still managed to teach them a lesson in respect and how to behave when you are visiting someone else's home.

Video of the incident shows the gorilla being a gorilla and soaking in the rays of the sun trying to mind its own business, while the kids yell at it and mock it. You can see a child beating his chest at the gorilla, you hear "You ugly!" and the gorilla just takes it, but apparently a child pointing at the gorilla is just too much! The gorilla charges towards the kids and puts its big palms on the glass. The kids scream. No one is hurt, but hopefully the kids will learn not to taunt animals.

Lessons learned from the encounter:

  • Kids will be kids and gorillas will be gorillas.
  • Kids should be coached on how to behave at the zoo.
  • If you act like a beast, you may be treated like a beast.
  • It's not always the big guy who is doing the bullying.

I have to give kudos to the gorilla. I think it showed more restraint that most humans would when being visited by pestering people calling you ugly.
