Baby separated from mom by closing subway doors is every mom’s nightmare!

A mom in her 20s using the London Underground suffered a huge scare when the train took off with her baby and left her standing on the platform. Can you imagine? She was pushing her child onboard in a stroller when the subway doors closed on her hands and the train took off. It's like the doors were trying to steal her baby.

Passengers pulled the emergency cord while the train was still at the South Kensington station, but after stopping briefly the train took off to its next stop, Gloucester Road. I think I would have lost my mind in that situation. Thankfully everyone in this situation seems to have kept their wits about them and banded together to help.

Staff from South Kensington phoned ahead to Gloucester Road to alert them of the baby traveling alone. The baby was taken care of by passengers on the train who witnessed what happened.

A couple on holiday and fellow passenger, 59-year-old  Malcolm Dyer from Ascot, escorted the baby off the train at Gloucester Road and stayed until the mother arrived.

I can only imagine that the mother was freaking out the entire time, but according to Malcolm Dyer, "The baby was merrily sleeping, unaware of anything that had happened."

This is a great story of strangers and staff coming together to help safely reunite the baby and mother. It is also a reminder that subway doors have a mind of their own and don't care whether you are on the train or not. Evil doors!
