Lately, it seems like there have been a ton of stories about parents putting their life on the line to save their kids. And though that might seem like that's what any good mom or dad would do, given that we've also seen our fair share of horrible parenting lately, it's pretty refreshing and inspiring to see that some people actually do still have their priorities in order.

So to show some appreciation to these brave souls who risked their lives for the sake of their children, we decided to round up some of their incredible stories. Below, six of the most amazingly heroic parents EVER!
Dennis Meyers
When Florida dad Dennis Meyers woke up to the sound of his daughter screaming and found an intruder in her bedroom, he sprung right into action. The courageous father grabbed the stranger, who was reportedly trying to kidnap his 16-month-old girl from her crib, and threw her out of the house by her hair and neck.
Kalli Atteya
When Kalli Atteya's 12-year-old son was kidnapped by his own father and taken to Egypt, the brave mother spent years hunting for her son and more than $100,000 spent on false leads. Finally, she decided to take matters into her own hands. With the help of a local guide, she tracked her only child and ex-husband and watched them, waiting for the right moment to make her move. Then a little over a month ago, Atteya–dressed in a burqa she wore to blend in the crowd--grabbed her son as he got off a school bus and rescued him!
Karen Brockleban
After a 13-year-old Maryland boy posted his plans to commit suicide online, his desperate mother took to the social media site pleading others to send her son some words of encouragement. Thousands of people from around the world ended up sharing Noah Brocklebank's story and sending him inspirational letters, ones that ended up saving his life.
Joe Welch
Florida dad Joe Welch saved his 6-year-old son from an alligator on a recent canoe trip by jumping into the water and boxing the reptile in the head! Now that's brave.
Albany parents
Two unidentified parents saved their three young kids, including a 7 and 8-year-old and a 6-month-old infant, from a house fire near Albany when they tossed each one out the second-story window. Thankfully, they were all safe because of their heroic actions!
Brandy Bookamer
Florida mom Brandy Bookamer almost died after she used herself as shield to protect her 6-year-old daughter against an attack by 5 pit bulls. Though her injuries were serious, she was able to recover and her actions saved her daughter's life.
