Mom tracks everything in her 7-year-old’s pockets & you won’t believe what she found! (PHOTOS)

Anyone with a curious child knows that they have a tendency to pick up whatever strikes their fancy and shove it into their pockets. You just never know what you're going to find in there! That's why Lisa Bauso came up with the brilliant idea of documenting the items found in the clothing of her then 7-year-old daughter, Bella.

Over a decade ago, Bauso and her husband Joe spent a year saving the stash of stuff their daughter would bring home in her pockets every day. She photographed each batch and compiled the snapshots, resulting in the hilarious and adorable book, "Bella's Pockets." The book documents every item that was found by the young girl (who is now 18!), along with captions that Bella herself wrote when she was 12 years old.

Is this a genius idea or what?! I just love that this project has literally been years in the making and that the entire family has worked on it at some point or another. Plus, the concept is so cute and something that I'm pretty sure every parent can relate to.

The best part though are the photos themselves. You'll laugh out loud when you see some of the completely random items Bella once carried in her pockets, which Bauso has rightly compared to "mini museums." Check out the pictures of what the mom found in her daughter's clothing years ago, as well as the explanatory captions written by Bella herself:

Toothpaste, stick, plastic rabbit

What was little Bella doing with a mini-sized toothpaste bottle in her pocket? "I whittled that [stick] with a pocket knife. And the tiniest little toothpaste — it was really cute," she wrote in the caption.

Model Horse

Apparently, younger Bella used to collect these models of horses. "The prettiest horse I owned," she explained alongside the photo. "I don't actually remember how it broke its leg. I still liked it after that. I kind of feel sorry for it."

Key, alien charm, coins

According to her caption, Bella thought that was "a secret key" and decided to "laminate it" (aka wrap it in tape) so it wouldn't get destroyed.

Pencil Stubs

Bella used to save these pencil stubs because she loved their miniature size! "The only downside was there'd be no eraser, so I'd try to conserve my erasing," she said of the photo.

Yarn, marble, note

On this particular day, Bella was carrying around marbles, yarn, and a coppier piece. But my favorite item? The folded paper note that reads "I Love Fairies." Aww!

Vitamin C, receipt, white bead, watch battery

"Sierra, my friend, had Vitamin C in her house. They tasted so good we'd sneak five or six a day," she wrote of the tablets found in her pocket.
